Copper ore with a particle size between 0–1 mm was used in the experiments. A model was created that determines the relationship between the processing time and efficiency of the grinding, and can be used for the optimization of the process. A comparison of the relative growth of particle size fractions in milling products was performed.
Ore grinding is a very important section in concentrators, which provides qualified grain grade materials for the subsequent mining processing operation. Grinding accounts for a great proportion of the basic construction investment of the concentrator, it is also consumed steel and energy high.
General introduction: Ball mill is a kind of grinding machine used to grind the crushed materials into extremely fine power, this series ball mill is mainly applied for industrial and mining enterprise such as metallurgy, building materials, chemical and other grindable materials, it can be used for open circuit grinding, also for the circle grinding with power feeder.

The biggest challenge for mineral processing is to both consistently produce high-grade concentrates with maximum recovery of ore deposits, and reduce energy consumption in crushing and grinding, which in 1976 was estimated to be about 3.3% of worlds electric energy . When processing minerals, big blocks of raw material called ores are first ...
Outotec is launching yet another unique solution in its range of minerals processing plant islands – the horizontal mill plant units. The pre-engineered plant units provide optimized grinding performance and simplify project management through easy circuit selection and flowsheet implementation.
Ball mill is used for grinding of various ores and rocks, widely used in non-metal mines, ferrous and non-ferrous metal mines, construction material, hydraulic engineering etc. 1. Grinding is used to primarily liberate useful minerals and secondarily provide fine ores with a proper particle size for separation. Gaudin [ 9 ] developed a mineral liberation model for breakage, but it considered materials only as cubes of equal volumes in an excessively simplified mineral mosaic relation.
About 80% of global copper mine production comes sulphide ores that ore processed using grinding and flotation plants to produce concentrates for smelting. The rest comes from mines using dump or heap leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning to produce cathode copper. Most copper mines are large, low grade, open pits.

12%Fine grinding, to P80 sizes as low as 7 μm, is becoming increasingly important as mines treat ores with smaller liberation sizes. This grinding is typically done using stirred mills such as the Isamill or Stirred Media Detritor. While fine grinding consumes less energy than primary grinding, it can still account for a substantial part of a …
Energy savings in high-pressure roll grinding of the copper ore compared to hammer milling estimated using the multiple event breakage simulation procedure, from a common feed size distribution equivalent to the product of the hammer mill ( Fig. 1 ). Fracture energy distributions for the different materials are given by Eqs. (4), (5).
low-molecular-weight polymer on wet grinding of quartz, dolomite, and a copper ore. A 5-in ball mill equipped with a torque sensor for precise measurement of input energy was used for batch grinding tests. Grinding parameters were determined from size distribution data on the feed mate rial and ground product.
In mineral beneficiation, grinding is also the most energy~onsuming process. Energy consumed in ore grinding in various mills as compiled by Hartley et al. [2] is shown in Table 1. It is to be noted that the energy consumed in grinding alone represents up to 70% of the energy for the whole beneficiation process (see Table 2 reproduced from a 1934
